Kim Harrison

I have fallen in love with Kim Harrison's hollows series. This series is about a supernatural bounty hunter named Rachel Morgan. She is constantly having to fight off demons and escape attacks on her life. But she is not alone, she has her two partners Ivy and Jenks. It is this trio of crime fighters that see's us through the entire series.

What I think makes this series special is that it never gets boring. As the books go on they give a glimpse of a bigger world each time. There are so many layers that keep getting added. To start off with you have Rachel who is a witch, Ivy who is  a living vampire and Jenks who is a pixie. Then as the stories progress you get introduced to werewolf's, banshees, demons, ghost and so much more.

I also enjoy that this isn't some far off imaginary place. It is set in Cincinnati, OH in present time. However there was an incident with a genetically engineered tomato that wiped out half of the human population allowing there numbers to even with those of the supernatural beings. This caused the supernatural beings to come out of hiding and live their lives with out fear of persecution. Having the story be set in present time has made it easier for me to immerse myself in the story. I fly through these books so fast, they are amazing. I love losing myself in Rachel's world for a few hours. I highly suggest you read them for yourself.

Unsaid things

I was so excited when this showed up in the mail yesterday. I have been a Mcfly fan for about 8 years now. These guys are all around my age and have accomplished so much over the 9 years they have been together. They are have released 5 albums and countless singles. Next month they will be releasing their latest album and I can't wait! I suspect that this book will full of interesting details considering what these boys are like. Also two of the members, Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter, have released a book called The Dinosaur That Pooped Christmas. I suspect that will be interesting as well. Here is to a wonderful time spent reading about talented and hot musicians!

My literary and musical adventures.

Two of my favorite things are music and books. There is not a day that goes by that I am not either reading a book or listening to music. It's how I relax and unwind. Music has the power to transform my mood. I love discovering new songs and different musicians. I also love sharing my discoveries with other people. Not only will I be sharing the new music that I discover but also the books that I read. I love exploring a different world with each book I read. I find it to be a magical experience getting lost in these stories. I hope to share some of that with you through this blog. Enjoy
